Assignment No. 4 – BMS

Objective:

Utilize the Behavior Monitoring Sheet (B.M.S.) to document and analyze disruptive behavior during therapy sessions. By accurately recording the frequency, duration, intensity, and latency, you will gain insights into the patterns of behavior and use effective intervention strategies adapted to the child’s needs.

Instructions:

  1. Read the Scenario: Carefully review the provided scenario detailing the child’s behavior during therapy sessions.
  2. Document Behavior: Using the Behavior Monitoring Sheet (B.M.S.), record the following for each specified date: Frequency: How often the disruptive behavior occurred. Duration: How long each instance of the disruptive behavior lasted. Intensity: The severity level of the behavior (e.g., low, medium, high). Latency: The time it took for the child to respond to a prompt or demand before engaging in the disruptive behavior.
  3. In the Antecedent column, make sure to provide detailed information about what happened right before the behavior occurred. This should include the environment, instructions given, tasks being done, and any other relevant factors that may have influenced the behavior.
  4. Under Behavior Reduction Technique Column, include at least one proactive strategy and one reactive strategy that are suited to the child’s behavior. Provide a brief explanation for each strategy and describe how it can be applied during the therapy session. Proactive strategies aim to prevent the behavior before it occurs, while reactive strategies address how to respond effectively when the behavior happens.
  5. Upload Behavior Monitoring Sheet (B.M.S.):
Complete the B.M.S. using this template (B.M.S.) Please do not edit the document directly from the link; instead, download it first. Once downloaded, the document can be accessed and edited using either the Microsoft Word app or the Google Docs app on your device. Alternatively, you may choose to complete the sheet in handwritten form; however, ensure that you replicate the template exactly, including the table. Lastly, kindly add your name to the file name for easy recognition. After completing the sheet, please upload the finished Behavior Monitoring Sheet below.
